Gondola in Venice

Carnival in Venice

Venice is a destination for all seasons. In the winter, the most famous Carnival festivities of Europe fill the center of Venice with colorful rich costumes. Springtime with its mild weather makes it very enjoyable to stroll by the canals or take a gondola for a romantic ride. Summer, with its special accommodation deals, make Venice more affordable. September with the Art Biennale and the Venice Film Festival fills the city with international buzz. It is not unusual to see world renown movie stars seated at cafes being the wall paper of your photo shot. A trip to Italy can’t miss this fascinating and unique city on the lagoon.

La Serenissima was the name given to Venice during its great and long period as an independent Republic (approx. IX century – 1797). Built on a lagoon made of several different islands, Venice during the peak of its grandiosity extended to areas in the South of Italy all the way Apulia and to the East, all the way to the Bosphorus in what is today Turkey. Thanks to its control of trades with the East, Venice was extremely rich. To these days, its has preserved the memories of its grandiosity in the beauty in its palaces. A multicultural society based on trade, La Serenissima allowed for different ethnicities to blossom within its borders. Learn about the fascinating history of this unique world famous destination in one of our private guided visits.
